Volunteer / Serve

We believe that serving God and others through the church is the best way to put hands and feet to faith. We believe that the fruits of our faith are shown through our love and service to others.

It takes hundreds of volunteers to make Beach happen! Whether you work with children or greet people on campus, we have an opportunity for you.

On this page you will find many opportunities for serving both within the church and throughout our community and beyond. When you choose what you’re interested in, contact the person listed or call the church office for more information. We will help you in every way possible to find your place in serving. So give one of these opportunities a try!  We just know you’ll experience great joy!  

“STREET-TO-SEAT” WELCOMING TEAMS
Do you believe that first impressions can make a huge impact? That creating an accepting, inviting environment is a must? Great! So do we.  We want our first-time guests to feel valued.  We call these our “street-to-seat” teams, and you can join as a Greeter / Ushers, Campus Hosts, Parking Ushers, Coffee Servers, or Welcome Center Hosts.  Interested?  Email  Marion Shotwell or call 249-2343, ext. 240.

BEACHKIDS (Children’s) MINISTRY
How would you like to help create the best hour of a kid’s week!  BeachKids is for children ages 2 through 5th grade.  It is our primary Sunday Worship experience for children of this age. To make BeachKids happen each Sunday, we need volunteers who are willing to give of their time and talents to lead children into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.  This can be done by either being in an age graded class to running tech in the worship space, or working with other adults to support one another. There are a wide range of areas of service within BeachKids. STUDENT MINISTRY (High School & Middle School) 
Are you an adult whose heart beats to help today’s teenagers with the pressures and challenges they face each day? UNITED Student Worship is an environment for students created by students where students come face to face with Jesus in large group worship. Come join us for a time of worship where you will sing with a student led band, see great videos and have a ton of fun.  Be a mentor, a chaperone, a small group leader, or help serve a snack, supper & beverages.

• Check-in Teams for UNITED Student Worship: Sunday evenings 5:30 – 6:30.  Welcome students and get them registered.
• Entourage - Parents of the Student Ministry - Supporting Parents of Teens Thru Encouragement, Relationships and Service.
• Help with Sunday night snacks for our students after the UNITED Student Worship.  7:15 - 8:15 p.m.
• Small Group Leaders for Middle School & High School students.  Tuesday, Wednesday evenings.

WORSHIP TECH and PRODUCTION TEAM  
Be hands on during each worship service whether its volunteering on the tech bridge running slides, operating the camera,  or serving as stage manager.  You will be thoroughly trained and very much appreciated.  Contact Dyan Gronczniak for more information.

GRAPHIC ARTS
Are you handy with computers and graphic design?  What about photography or web development… maybe writing & proof reading?  If any of that interests you, then you are in the right place.  Contact Dyan Gronczniak.

COMMUNION
Would you like to help prepare and/or serve communion during worship services. Contact: Gina Duffy or call 249-2343 ext 218.

DINNER AT BEACH
If you want to join a great volunteer team that gathers around food; you’ll love this group!  Every Wednesday evening during the school year, several hundred people drop by BEACH for a fantastic dinner.  Volunteers assist Chef Eddie in preparing food, setting up the Family Life Center for a dinner atmosphere, and cleaning up following.  It’s a lot of fun and a lot of fellowship every Wednesday.  Contact: Melissa Brooks or call 247-7496.

RECEPTIONIST TEAM
Greet visitors, answer the phones and help the staff with small projects you can do at the desk on Monday – Thursday (9-noon or noon – 3pm). Contact Marion Shotwell or call 249-2343 ext 240.

STEPHEN MINISTRY
Trained Stephen Ministers provide distinctively Christian care to persons in the church and community who are experiencing challenging life circumstances. Stephen Ministers also deliver monthly communion to homebound members and visit hospitals.

CLASS FACILITATOR
If you have the gift for teaching/facilitating there are classes for Disciple Bible Study, DivorceCare, Grief Recovery and other discipleship classes.  Contact Pastor Carmen Johns or 249-2343 ext 229
